Does Apple need to see a therapist for control issues?

I am a Mac fan.  I am an Apple fan.  I am an open source fan.  As Apple increasingly comes across an UN-open I wonder how folks will react.  What is the motivation for their autocratic control of applications? Not allowing crossplatform development? Ultimately, I don’t care.

To me it is like dating a model who will only eat salads.  I sure wish we could have fun at a Pig Pickin’ but the way she looks in a thong definitely wins out.
